How Important Is My Touch-up?
You may be wondering how important your touch up is and if it is necessary.
In short, the answer is absolutely YES! If you plan on having the best results possible the touch up is necessary for many reasons. One month touch ups are included for free with all of my services. Many clients believe they will save money if they don’t get a touch up. Truth is, you will only be wasting more money since the end result won’t be as good without the touch up. I’ve had people who have gotten their brows done by other artists and ask me to do their touch up because it is free. This is something I only offer to my existing clients.
So why is the touch up so important?
We don’t know how the skin will react to the procedure or how it will heal. All permanent makeup will fade about 30% in the healing process; it is not meant to be as intense and bold as the day of. There are three key factors for good healing; quality of work, skin type, and aftercare routine. The only one that cannot be controlled is the client’s skin and its reaction. Some clients have great retention and others don’t as much. For those who have good retention there are no need for any changes with aftercare. For the few who don’t retain color or strokes as well we might need to make some adjustments in the aftercare. Beside retention another great reason for a touch up is to make any adjustments weather it is to go thicker, darker, lighter, or change something to the shape. Think of this as a two step process. They are definitely not finished after only one appointment. Most clients decide they want to go bolder or upgrade to a different procedure such as combo brows to intensify the results.
What happens during your touch-up?
We start off by evaluating the condition of your now healed brows and discuss any changes you would like done. Then I go ahead an numb you for 20 minutes just like the first time. Afterwards I will just go over all the strokes and a couple times over the ones that didn’t retain the color as well. If you had ombre brows or any kind of shading I will also go over the eyebrow with the machine like the first time around. This will take about half the time or about an hour. The aftercare instructions will be the same unless we need to make some adjustments. Expect very similar healing except it will be much more subtle since this was less invasive compared to the initial appointment.
