Preparing for your appointment
Did you know pre-care is just as important as after-care? Most people don’t know this because it simply isn’t stressed enough in the beauty industry! Properly caring for your skin before hand combined with good aftercare will result in good healed brows!
The weeks following up to your procedure there are certain things you should avoid. Stay away from the sun for at least a week and wear proper sunscreen to prevent a tan or a sunburn right before your procedure. Discontinue Glycolics, chemical peels, and Retin-A four weeks prior. Try not to use moisturizers, face wash, BB or CC creams and makeup primers that include any kind of acid in their ingredients. No brow waxing and brow tinting a week prior. If you are also getting Botox done that should be done 2 weeks prior.
As far as consumption It is important that you stay away from certain foods and vitamins that could affect your skin and blood. Coffee and Tea naturally thin your blood as well as Fish oil, Advil, Aspirin, and other pain killers. Some people think if they take an Advil before the procedure it will help with the pain. This is a huge misconception. This will actually make you more susceptible to bleeding and make it harder for the pigments to absorb. That is why we have numbing creams that will actually help. After the procedure you will be able to go back to your daily cup of coffee!
